A moment in time

Walking up a steep and dusty hill on a cold Thursday morning, I was nervous and excited at the same time.  We finally got to the top of the hill where everything was set up. I could see bullseye, the arrows, the bench to sit on and a black board.  We all sat down on the bench and listened to the instructor, Ben.

We could choose a famous character that was really good at archery.  Isabella chose herself, Brooke chose Katniss, and I chose Robin Hood.  We did the characters in order from A to Z.  A few letters after A came R, yay I was next.   I was so excited.  I stood up and got the bow, got the arrow ready and I pulled back my arm - woosh,  my arrow went flying in the air and landed in the dirt.  I still had two more arrows to shoot so I got my second arrow, pulled my arm back and I let go of the arrow.  Once again the arrow that I shot landed on the ground.  I picked up my last arrow, put it in the bow and another big WHOOSH. My last arrow landed last arrowed on the dirt.

I walked back to the campsite feeling really happy because I was better at archery this year than last year.

This was a great read. It's good that you focused on the positive of the experience. Thanks for sharing some of your camp experience.
